Handling Success....

Well it has been while since I touched the keys of wily keyboard to type down something and now I really think its time to get started.

Coming to the point, a lot has been said about overcoming failures or beating the odds or rising from the ashes or whatever but how many of us think about handling success!!?? Handling success is as important as anything that is vital in one’s progress towards the acme of life and trust me when I say this as I mean it completely. We work hard, working towards an aim in life and we never know when the riches of the success would appear above the horizon of uncertainty. If at all we fail in between or get a change of our course due to various illusions or distractions, we sit back from the set back and pull the trigger to bullet forward towards success in a more focused way as we have the taste of victory still in the tip of our soul’s tongue. But interesting things happen if our hard work pays off in the first place. We succeed and more often than not we loose the taste of victory very soon as it skies down the hill of the sense of achievement and we get into a kind of trance of being on the top of the world, but hang on, is this the end of the story, hmmm not quite so. Yup, the “top of the world” can make you more vulnerable to deep falls later. It’s important that we still have head on shoulders and feet on ground. There are two ways of looking at success, one is to cherish the rewards of the victory and the other is to cherish too much to get carried away and become over confident. And believe me; if ever you become negatively influenced by the guerdons of the victory then you are heading nowhere else but towards the doom of your own downfall (similar to free fall, the greater the height, bigger is the impact of falling which may be very painful :p)

Now here comes a possible solution, most times we tend to get satisfied with the results and stop continuing the good work, remember every milestone demands more hard work and to put in better words “getting success out of hard work is like traveling in a train, we may think that the station (milestone or achievement) came to us on its own but the fact is, we reached it with our hard work fueling the engine of glory.” So best way to handle success is to absorb all the positives of the work and the journey towards it and raise the bar still higher so that we start working again (course we can give a breathing space for rejoicing for sometime as we deserve it, shorter the better :)) towards the newly spotted star of glory and every time we continue the hard work we can assure ourselves of greater name, fame, glory and what not. So we must never quench the thirst to shine with the small successes but explore more to achieve more of them and also conquer the extraordinary ones….

Thank you for your patient reading and I do hope to bring more interesting stuff soon…. Take care…. :D

PS: I saw the function of Universal Hero Kamala Hassan being awarded the “Living Legend” and do you what he said on receiving it? He said “I should better start working harder so that I start deserving this award!”(My Apologies, if I couldn’t quote the exact words but still it’s inspiring to hear it from such an achiever :))
