Kodaikanal as i saw it!!!

I am keying this right after reaching home from a trip to kodaikanal for one and a half days with my fellow classmates and some seniors. At the outset a group trip is always a questionable inquisition for a guy like me, being alone and left out most of the time. When the idea was shot up by Bagrat(my classmate) sometime before, i was skeptical, knowing me and my crave for loneliness. Most of the time I find myself too comfortable in a group and start disliking the ambiance to unleash my liking for loneliness to engulf the enthusiasm. But finding the good mates in surya and naizath i decided to give it a shot and the special mention about the successful test run of our Linear Induction motor(LIM) (atleast once) which indeed pushed me through and off the doubtful and also i needed some change at this time around.

The trip's onset was not so great cos we had a con of our LIM failing to start. I was told to reach sangeethas by 11+ pm and i reached there by 15 min to 11. As always predicted i was caught in a "no-company" stint and after sometime i was joined by Ismail and naizath. We waited and waited and finally the bus arrived with Surya among others. He was oscillating till the end between choosing delta or the trip and finally nodded to trip. so all 47 of us boarded the bus and it was flagged off by padaiyappa :D But no sooner did "Thaliaivar" sing his intro into the screen i snored off heavily by Rishi's side. Getting up i found myself in a stationary bus and it was still dark which meant we were not there yet. After some refreshment (i gave up eating only after brushing here alone) we set off to climb up the ranges. The journey was slow, powerful and quite carefully driven. After a patient wait, we found ourselves in the inviting "Silver Cascade" falls. With a pleasant sight of it, our enthu drove us to have some fun and it was indeed time to dust the cams. It was a beauty of its own, crying out the significance for its name. Water gracefully slid down the smeared rocks with enough force to produce the traditional "waterfall" sound but it was too much to enjoy a nice cool shower. So we set off again from there and the cold already grinned at us showing its sharp jaws and biting us at every exposed part. I started wondering how altitude can change the ambiance (literally in every sense). And after some time the cottage where we were supposed to bunk arrived and it was a nice, cosy bungalow each of the two we stayed. A nice shower was on the cards but the laziness swallowed the idea and so with the morning routines attended to it was the time to "start the mission" as i put it in our lingo. We hired a couple of ,well, should i call them mini buses?! and with a guide we set off to kurinji aandavar temple and then to the suicide point after a bit of trekking at the pine forests and breakfast. It was really scary there but a sense of pride crept as we out-scaled the clouds! The four pillar rocks, guna caves(devil's kitchen) were indeed great and inviting for those who seek death. We did the munching here and there and after a bit of trekking again we reached one of the coolest places- the falls and the stream. I regretted not to have bathed there but nevertheless fed something for the "loneliness craving" attitude and started grumbling for nothing. Here is where i felt i wont fit well into a group. So with the heaviness at heart I was left without cash(i left part of it in room :( ) and loneliness cast in. My mobile phone started choking, gasping for charge, adding to the misery and somehow i kept myself moving and we then moved to the Kodai city. We roamed around, wandered or you can use any synonym for being vetti and my frustration started showing very clearly, boasting for winning over my conscience. After giving enough to the wickedness of the cold I got myself a sweater and started feeling warm. We hunted around the place to get something and our plans for a movie miserably failed as there was no "night show" in that place, atleast that day. So we moved to the cottage and fell flat on back and the next time when i opened my eyes the sun gleamed at me even at 6.30(you can take it as surya too as he was up already too :D ) Without much ado i followed the morning routines and finally managed to bath. The breakfast was prepared at the cottage and it was not so good to praise ,honestly. We boarded the bus but it resisted to move with a flat tyre and so after getting it replaced we moved to the place for boating in the lake. The boat house was good but we couldn get two-seater pedal boats and had to go in four-seater. It was Naizath and Surya who did the grueling pedaling while me and Ismail just enjoyed the back-seat spectator's job. With half an hour of float (couldn get a better word) we resolved to the wander around and I got some chocolates for home. After loitering around for quite a while we took some cool pics and started our journey back home. The trip brought me into a mixture of emotions but it was worth-remembering.
Will get back soon! Take care ! :)
